During pregnancy, acupuncture can be used to alleviate many related symptoms: nausea and vomiting, insomnia and fatigue, anxiety and depression, pelvic pain, itching and pregnancy induced hypertension.

Acupuncture and moxibustion can help turn a baby in a breech position, ideally around 34 weeks but may still work as late as 37-38 weeks.

Pre birth treatments from 36 weeks have been shown to facilitate birth by loosening the ligaments, ripening the cervix and helping the baby to descend naturally.

As a mother I have had the personal experience of 3 very different births, and as a practitioner helping many expectant mums through this life-changing transition to motherhood. Working with pregnant mums is my most rewarding work.

Acupuncture during pregnancy was amazing…

Acupuncture during pregnancy was amazing… each trimester is a different… during the first I needed energy and help with the sickness, during the second I had a rash, during the third I was suffering from pelvic problems and insomnia and the extra weight... the personal, friendly and detailed individual approach was so beneficial to me. I feel like it paid a huge part in my well-being over the 9 months… thank you, Amelia.”
